National Cancer Institute YES Program

As a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center, City of Hope is proud to be a part of the Youth Enjoy Science (YES) program.

City of Hope has developed a research education and training program entitled Youth Enjoy Science: Seeking Useful Comprehensive Cancer Education Strategies for Students, or YES2SUCCESS, to provide outreach and mentored research experiences in cancer research laboratories to underrepresented students. Our holistic approach will provide students unique opportunities to gain research laboratory experience and explore STEM-related careers starting from the middle school level. Students participating in the YES2SUCCESS program receive a $4,800 stipend.

Underrepresented populations include African-American, Hispanic, Native American and Pacific Islander. YES2SUCCESS students work side by side with City of Hope scientists on current, challenging research projects. The program is a two summer commitment, each summer session lasting 12 weeks.

For students interested in the YES2SUCCESS program, please fill out the main application and check the respective box to indicate your desire to be considered. Only students who apply to the Roberts Academy are considered for the YES2SUCCESS program.
