STEM Training And Education Program

The STEM Training and Education Program (STEP) is an outreach program based out of City of Hope in Duarte, California. The STEP team is dedicated to exposing students, especially those from local, underserved communities, to authentic experiences, with the hopes of encouraging and building confidence in pursuing STEM education and careers. The STEP team focuses on working with students in grades K-12 with interactive lessons and realistic experiences, occasionally hosting opportunities for undergraduate students and above, as well.

Our Mission

We hope that by introducing students to interesting presentations and engaging hands-on activities, we can spark a long-term love of science and motivate students to pursue their aspirations. Through our programming, we aim to increase the number of underrepresented minority students studying or pursuing a career in science, cancer research, or other STEM fields.
