Shady Eldaif, M.D., is the medical director of thoracic oncology at City of Hope® Cancer Center Atlanta, where he leads a team of specialists who treat cancers of the esophagus and chest. Dr. Eldaif, who is fluent in all dialects of Arabic, is also an accomplished surgeon who specializes in complex robotic and minimally invasive procedures to treat conditions like lung, mediastinal, thymic and esophageal cancers. He has performed more than 1,600 such surgeries to date.
An Atlanta native, Dr. Eldaif earned his medical degree and completed residencies in both general and thoracic surgery at Emory University School of Medicine. Prior to joining City of Hope Atlanta, he led the thoracic surgery group at an Atlanta-area surgical center and served as chair of the Department of Surgery at the same hospital. As a physician, he is committed to ensuring his patients are educated about their treatment options and receive the most effective treatment possible with the fewest complications.
A physician-scholar, Dr. Eldaif has published multiple articles in leading medical journals and presented on topics such as cardiovascular health and innovative surgical techniques at conferences around the country.
