ARIA III Cell Sorter

The Aria III cell sorter (Becton Dickinson) is a four-laser system (405nm, 488nm, 561nm and 633nm) with a maximum of 15 fluorescent detectors. Samples can be loaded onto the sorter in various tube sizes (microfuge tubes, 12X75mm or 15ml conical centrifuge tubes). The nozzle tip sizes available for sorting are 70 microns, 85 microns, and 100 microns. Bulk sorting from one to four populations per sample is possible. Collection tubes for one- or two-way sorting are 15ml, 12X75mm, or 1.5ml microfuge tubes. For three- or four-way sorting, utilize either 12X75mm or 1.5ml microfuge collection tubes. An Automatic Cell Deposition Unit (ACDU) is available for sorting onto slides and plates (6-, 24-, 48-, 96- or 384-well plates). The ACDU can help collect a single cell or any user-specified number of cells. The Aria III is equipped with temperature control for the sort sample and sort collection tubes. The cell sorter is housed in a Class II Biosafety Cabinet.
