For the seventh consecutive year, City of Hope Orange County’s renowned physician-scientists have been recognized as Physicians of Excellence by Orange County Medical Association (OCMA).
This prestigious honor recognizes physicians who stand out for their exceptional service and commitment to their patients, profession and community.
The City of Hope® Orange County 2026 OCMA Physicians of Excellence practice at City of Hope’s academic research campus in Irvine — home to Orange County’s most advanced cancer center and only cancer specialty hospital — and throughout City of Hope’s network of clinical locations across the region. They are (from left):
- Wade Smith, M.D., a medical oncologist specializing in breast cancer.
- Dechen Dolkar, M.D., a radiation oncologist specializing in advanced radiotherapy and radiopharmaceutical therapy.
- Tingting Tan, M.D., a medical oncologist and hematologist specializing in thoracic cancer.
- Nairi Berner, M.D., an endocrinologist specializing in diabetes, endocrine and metabolism disorders.

- Jennifer Woo, M.D., a pathologist and medical director of blood bank and transfusion services at City of Hope Orange County Lennar Foundation Cancer Center.
- Cory Hugen, M.D., a urologist specializing in bladder, kidney, testicular and other urologic cancers.
- Amanda Schwer, M.D., a radiation oncologist specializing in stereotactic radiation and other advanced radiation technologies and techniques.
