MRI

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) uses magnetic fields and radio waves (non-ionizing radiation) to create detailed cross-section images of tissues and organs, allowing for early and careful detection of cancer.

Patients lie on a flat table inside a long, narrow cylinder for 45 to 60 minutes. The outpatient procedure is painless and patients will hear loud, machine-like noises while inside the MRI chamber.

Contrast dye is sometimes used to improve the visibility of internal body structures. An MRI of the breast with dynamic contrast enhancement (DCE) for visualization of kinetic curves allows radiologists to better detect regions of increased vascularity that indicate areas suspect for breast cancer lesions.

We offer multi-parametric MRI using dynamic contrast enhancement (DCE), which highlights the vascularization of cancerous lesions, allowing readers to corroborate suspicious findings, noting subtle lesions not otherwise visible. The technology is available for the following

  • MRI of the Breast
  • MRI of the Female Pelvis
  • MRI of the Prostate

Other areas of focus include:

  • UroNav® Fusion Biopsy System, which combines pre-biopsy MR images of the prostate with ultrasound-guided biopsy images in real time
  • fMRI of the Brain
  • MR Brain Spectoscopy
  • Cardiac MRI
