Clinical Social Work
The stress and anxiety that often accompany cancer diagnosis and treatment can weigh on patients and their loved ones. City of Hope’s clinical social workers are available to assist patients and their family with the emotional adjustment to the patient's illness.
Clinical social workers are especially helpful at critical transition points, such as during a new diagnosis, change in treatment, worsening prognosis or end-of-life care. They can also help with concrete needs including transportation, community resources and financial assistance. All social workers specialize in providing psychosocial services to City of Hope patients and their families.
