Dear Patient,

We have updated our visitor policy to further protect our patients and staff from the risk of COVID-19. Effective Wednesday, March 25, we will no longer allow patients to have visitors at any City of Hope inpatient and outpatient locations, with the following limited exceptions:
  • Pediatric patients under the age of 18 will be permitted one parent or guardian.
  • Individuals with significant disabilities will be permitted one support person.
  • Please note: Permitted individuals must be over 18 years of age and in no event will any visitor be permitted for a patient with suspected or confirmed COVID-19.

These heightened restrictions are based on the latest information and recommendations from public health authorities during this critical period and will remain in effect until further notice.

We recognize the challenge that this will cause for many of you. We will provide navigators onsite to help you with registration, guide you to your appointment location and assist in other support functions like facilitating FaceTime, Skype or phoning a loved one or caregiver during appointments.

If a caregiver drives you to City of Hope and is planning to wait for you to complete your appointment, please be aware that we continue to offer meals to go at our food locations and they may sit or walk in our gardens and public spaces while maintaining COVID-19 social distancing. If your planned visit is longer in duration and your driver would like to leave and return, we will assist in calling them in advance of your pickup time.

Per our ongoing COVID-19 procedures, all individuals are screened for symptoms (cough, shortness of breath and fever) before entry into any of our patient care areas. For your well-being and that of all our patients and staff, if you are experiencing symptoms before your scheduled appointment, it is important that you call our COVID-19 Patient Hotline at 844-961-4673, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., before your visit for instructions.

For more information, please go to CityofHope.org/COVID. You may also call our COVID-19 Patient Hotline.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this challenging time for all of us.
Sincerely,

Michael A. Caligiuri, M.D.
