Working as part of the multidisciplinary team that encompasses providers in the Division of Gastroenterology, hepatologists play an integral role in our hallmark compassionate, high-quality care.
Our physicians specialize in dealing with the liver issues that survivors can face. Every day, City of Hope’s clinical hepatology team works to ensure that patients with chronic liver disease receive therapy customized to the details of their disease, as well as their priorities and values. To that end, we employ state-of-the-art diagnostic technology, such as the FibroScan, an alternative to a biopsy that our doctors use to quickly, painlessly and noninvasively assess liver health during an outpatient visit.
At the same time, our services include screening for early detection of liver cancer because identifying the disease before symptoms appear helps patients enjoy longer, healthier lives.
