City of Hope’s Division of Orthopaedic Surgery specializes in treatment of patients of all ages with tumor-related problems of the musculoskeletal system (bones, muscles and connective tissues).
We take a team approach to patient care, interfacing with the oncologist, radiologist and other specialists to provide our patients with the most advanced comprehensive surgical treatment and supportive therapy in both inpatient and outpatient settings, employing the latest techniques available, and specializing in limb-preserving surgery.

We use the following techniques to ensure optimal results:
- Limb-preserving surgery — bone transport for reconstruction of bone after tumor resection or to correct limb-length discrepancies
- Use of “growing” endoprosthesis for children
- Complex reconstructive bone and joint replacement surgery
- Radiofrequency ablation
