Division of Plastic Surgery

City of Hope's Division of Plastic Surgery care team understands that preserving a positive self-image is an essential consideration for patients after certain types of cancer surgery. That's why we aim to provide our patients with functional and aesthetically sensitive reconstructive surgery that helps them retain that self-image.

Our team has extensive experience in the latest complex microsurgical techniques, including:

  • Perforator flaps, for reconstruction after treatment of breast, head and neck, extremities, torso and skin cancers.
  • Dermatology and Mohs micrographic surgery, where skin cancer is removed one layer at a time with a pathologist's immediate examination of each layer until the cancer is no longer detected.
  • Complex reconstruction for pelvic floor dysfunction, such as organ prolapse, pelvic pain, pelvic infection, urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence and sexual dysfunction.

We work closely with all members of the patient's physician team to achieve the best possible reconstructive results without compromising the effectiveness of the surgical treatment.
