Patient and Family Advisory Council

2026 Patient and Family Advisory Council group | City of Hope

At City of Hope®, we believe the best care happens when patients, families, caregivers and health care providers partner together.

Since 2008, the Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC) has created partnerships between patients, caregivers, physicians and health care leaders across City of Hope to improve outcomes for all patients. PFAC positively impacts the quality of care and overall patient experience.

By amplifying the patient voice, PFAC has collaborated with City of Hope to help develop and improve programs, service, processes, policies and facilities to achieve the highest possible levels of patient and family satisfaction, quality of care and patient safety.

What Is the Patient and Family Advisory Council?

The council is composed of 30 dedicated members who represent a diverse group of patients and families united by the shared goal of improving the patient and family experience.

To ensure all City of Hope patients are represented, the council continues to recruit active patients and caregivers who can further broaden the PFAC’s diversity.

Our Mission

The Patient and Family Advisory Council positively impacts quality of care and overall experience at City of Hope. We accomplish this by serving as the patient and family voice in decisions that create practical benefits and turn hope into reality.

Our Vision

The Patient and Family Advisory Council is an integral partner at the center of transforming care across City of Hope to elevate the patient and family experience.

What Are the Benefits of Being a Patient or Family Advisor?
